Waste Management and Remediation

DEQ’s Waste Management and Remediation Division is responsible for monitoring and controlling the generation, treatment, storage, and disposal of wastes in Idaho. We work to ensure that hazardous waste, solid waste, and underground storage tanks are managed properly and that petroleum and hazardous chemical releases are investigated and cleaned up. We also work closely with local governments, businesses, and property owners to remediate and redevelop the contaminated property and promote economic use.

We have several fact sheets available to assist with waste management and remediation topics.
