We administer federal and state funds for grants and low-interest loans to improve the quality of Idaho’s water resources. Our drinking water grants and loans assist eligible public drinking water systems with facility planning projects to ensure safe and adequate drinking water supplies. Our wastewater grants and loans help entities build or repair existing wastewater treatment facilities to achieve and maintain compliance with state and federal standards or to provide direct water quality benefits.
Funding Opportunities
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality’s Grants and Loans Bureau is extending the deadline for Drinking Water and Clean Water Emerging Contaminants Letters of Interest (LOI) to February 29, 2024.
There is approximately $11 million in funding for Drinking Water Emerging Contaminants projects and $1 million for Clean Water Emerging Contaminants projects. This funding is 100% principal forgiveness grant funding. The LOIs will be rated and ranked in March and added to the draft priority lists and intended use plans for public review in April.
If you submitted a Drinking Water or Clean Water State Revolving Fund LOI and are curious if your project would qualify for the emerging contaminant funding listed above, reach out to the Grants and Loans Bureau. If you are unsure if your project qualifies or if you need help filling out an LOI contact DEQ’s Grants and Loans Bureau.
