DEQ seeks comment on notice of intent to terminate permit coverage for College of Southern Idaho Fish Hatchery
Accepting comments from July 7, 2025, through August 6, 2025.
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking comment on a notice of intent to terminate Idaho Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (IPDES) permit coverage for the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) Fish Hatchery.
CSI operated a fish hatchery facility in Twin Falls, Idaho, for fish propagation activities. The city acquired the property on December 5, 2023, and requested termination of IPDES permit IDG130124. In response, DEQ is providing a notice of intent to terminate permit coverage, in accordance with the “Idaho Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Rules” (IDAPA 58.01.25.203 and IDAPA 58.01.25.100).
Written comments on the notice of intent will be accepted through August 6, 2025, at 5 p.m., MDT. A public meeting may be held, if requested in writing, by July 21, 2025. Comments should address water quality considerations and include supporting materials where available. Comments should also reference the CSI Fish Hatchery and IPDES permit number IDG130124.
