Accepting applications for funding to support sustainable materials management project

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality seeks project proposals that enhance or support innovative waste reduction or prevention.

The funding is made possible through a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Sustainable Materials Management Program, which promotes using and reusing materials more productively over their entire lifecycles.

As much as $133,300 will be available to support selected projects between November 7, 2022, and November 3, 2023.

Proposed Application/Award Process Timeline

  • June 16, 2022: Release of the grant application
  • September 2, 2022: Deadline for submission of the grant application
  • October 14, 2022: Final decision on grant awards and awardees notified by phone
  • November 7, 2022: The grant agreement is executed, and work begins
  • November 5, 2023: Project deliverables accomplished
  • December 28, 2023: Final invoices due to DEQ
  • December 28, 2023: Final report due to DEQ

West Silver Valley Logging Debris Removal Project

DEQ seeks vendors to participate in a logging debris removal program to reduce the amount of PM2.5 emissions from burning logging debris within the West Silver Valley PM2.5 nonattainment area. DEQ will provide limited financial assistance through a voucher reimbursement system for load delivery of logging debris that would otherwise be open burned within the West Silver Valley nonattainment area.
