DEQ seeks comment on draft permit to construct for Gas Transmission Northwest, LLC

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) seeks comment on a draft permit to construct for Gas Transmission Northwest, LLC.

Gas Transmission Northwest, LLC operates a compressor station located along a natural gas pipeline in Athol, Idaho. The compressor station consists of two turbine-driven compressors that move the natural gas through the pipeline. The turbines use the natural gas in the pipeline as fuel and provide energy for the compressors to induce the flow of the gas.

The company is proposing to modify its existing facility to increase the subzero temperature operating hours for the Solar Titan 130 turbine (Unit 5D).

DEQ has determined that construction and operation according to the proposed permit will not cause or significantly contribute to a violation of any ambient air quality standard and will not injure or unreasonably affect human or animal life or vegetation. DEQ has reviewed the application and completed an analysis of the information submitted by the applicant. Based on this analysis, DEQ proposes to issue the permit to construct.
