ELK CITY — The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) today announced the award of a $1,850,000 low-interest drinking water construction loan to Elk City Water and Sewer Association, Inc, Idaho County.

This draft permit authorizes the discharge of treated municipal wastewater year-round to the South Fork Payette River. The city’s current IPDES permit was issued January 7, 2020, and expires February 28, 2025.
