Fred Dolislager and Debra Stewart from Oak Ridge National Laboratory will be in Boise to provide a full day training on EPA’s Regional Screening Level (RSL) and Vapor Intrusion Screening Level (VISL) calculators. Petroleum chemicals will be the focus of the training. Anyone interested in learning about the calculators is welcome to attend.

Background:
On July 1^st, 2025, the newly updated IDAPA 58.01.24, Rules for Petroleum Release Corrective Action, will be effective. These rules reference using EPA’s RSL and VISL calculators instead of DEQ’s outdated risk software. Public participation meetings on updating the Risk Evaluation Manual for Petroleum Releases is complete and a final version referencing the RSL and VISL calculators will be published this summer.
