DEQ seeks representatives for Potlatch River Watershed Advisory Group

LEWISTON – The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking representatives to fill six vacancies on the Potlatch River Watershed Advisory Group (WAG).

The WAG is currently seeking representation from the following interest areas:

  • Environmental
  • Recreation
  • Point Source Dischargers (Industry)
  • Forestry
  • Mining
  • Local Government

The Potlatch River WAG is comprised of a group of citizens dedicated to the successful restoration and protection of the Potlatch River and corresponding tributaries. This watershed includes portions of southeast Latah County encompassing the townships of Bovill, Deary, Troy, Juliaetta, and Kendrick, as well as a part of northwest Clearwater County and northeast Nez Perce County. The WAG seeks to have representation from all areas of the watershed.

The WAG advises DEQ on water quality improvement plans called total maximum daily loads and provides guidance on how to implement water quality improvements in these watersheds.
