DEQ seeks comment on draft reuse permit renewal for Idaho Pacific Corp

Accepting comments from June 10, 2026, through July 9, 2026.

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking comment on draft reuse permit renewal (I-030-05) for Idaho Pacific Corporation.

Idaho Pacific Corporation owns and operates a potato processing facility located on 4723 E 100 N in Ririe, Idaho. The facility treats wastewater from potato washing, processing, and dehydration and recycles the water through year-round land application. The facility historically irrigates on average 157 million gallons of recycled water annually to 280 acres of grass hay crops. The permittee has proposed to use an additional 31 acres of land, owned by Idaho Pacific Corporation, for land application of recycled water.

The draft reuse permit establishes monitoring requirements, limits on nutrient and hydraulic loading, and conditions established by DEQ to protect public health and the environment. As part of the permitting process, the facility was also required to show that its operation would not cause public health or environmental concerns.

Written comments on the draft permit will be accepted through July 9, at 5 p.m. Mountain Time. The draft permit and staff analysis are available for public review at DEQ’s state office (1410 N. Hilton St., Boise, ID 83706), DEQ’s Idaho Falls Regional Office (900 N. Skyline Drive, Suite B Idaho Falls, ID 83402), and below under related documents.
