The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) seeks comment on a draft permit to construct (PTC) modification for Unitech Composites in Hayden, Idaho.
Unitech Composites (Unitech), a division of Unitech Aerospace, operates a composites manufacturing facility within a developed industrial park on North Aero Drive in Hayden, Idaho. Unitech manufactures structural and non-structural composites with multiple resin systems. Processes include use of honeycomb core machining, forming, and sandwich panel construction.
Unitech is seeking to modify the current DEQ-issued permit to construct P-2021.0017 issued December 23, 2021, to reflect actual material usages, include an additional oven added after the permit date, and to update information on an electric oven and electric autoclave that were misidentified as burning natural gas.
DEQ has determined that construction and operation according to the proposed permit will not cause or significantly contribute to a violation of any ambient air quality standard and will not injure or unreasonably affect human or animal life or vegetation. DEQ has reviewed the application and completed an analysis of the information submitted by the applicant to reflect the as-built conditions and material uses. Based on this analysis, DEQ proposes to issue the permit to construct to Unitech Composites, Hayden.
The draft permit materials are available for public review at DEQ’s State Office (1410 N. Hilton St.) and below in the related documents. Written comments on the draft permit and supporting materials will be accepted through June 26, 2026, at 5 p.m. MT. Submit comments using the form below or via mail or email to:
