Accepting Comments from July 8, 2026, to August 7, 2026

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) seeks comment on a draft Idaho Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (IPDES) permit for the Perpetua Resources Idaho, Inc. – Stibnite Gold Project Worker Housing Wastewater Treatment Facility.

Perpetua Resources Idaho, Inc. applied for a wastewater discharge permit for its wastewater treatment facility, located at Thunder Mountain Rd Stibnite Valley, Idaho 83677.

The draft permit would authorize the discharge of treated domestic wastewater year-round to the East Fork South Fork Salmon River for 5 years. The permit identifies the pollutants of concern, required limits for each pollutant or parameter, and monitoring and reporting requirements necessary to ensure compliance with the permit and protect human health and the environment.

The draft permit and fact sheet are available for public review at DEQ’s state office (1410 N. Hilton St.), DEQ’s Boise Regional Office (1445 N. Orchard St., Boise, ID), and on DEQ’s website.

Written comments on the draft permit and fact sheet will be accepted through Friday August 7, 2026, at 5 p.m. Mountain Time. A public meeting may be held, if requested in writing, by Wednesday July 22, 2026. Comments should address water quality considerations and include supporting materials where available. Comments should also reference Perpetua Resources Idaho, Inc. and permit number (ID0030082).
