BOISE – The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) today announced the award of $4,186,255 in legislative supplemental funding to the Payette Lakes Recreational Water and Sewer District in Valley County, Idaho.
The Idaho Legislature authorized DEQ to receive and distribute the legislative supplemental funds to construct drinking water and wastewater infrastructure improvements, pursuant to §§ 4 and 5, Idaho House Bill No. 455 (2025).
This grant will be used for both phases of the wastewater treatment project. In phase one, the district will collect master plan surveys related to infiltration and inflow from the Wooley Avenue, Spruce Street, Wildhorse, and Jasper Street sewer replacement projects. Phase one also includes sewer replacement work at Wooley Avenue, Spruce Street, and Jasper Street; blower upgrades; and Lake Street cured-in-place pipe and point repair for infiltration and inflow. The district will replace the recycled water storage pond liner in phase two.
This construction grant represents an estimated $7,951,379 savings to communities compared to average costs for municipal general obligation debt issuances.
