The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality is seeking a representative to fill an open central Idaho grower position on the Crop Residue Burning (CRB) Advisory Committee.
Anyone interested in serving on the CRB Advisory Committee as a representative for central Idaho growers should contact Tami Aslett at (208) 373-0443 or tami.aslett@deq.idaho.gov by 5 p.m. Mountain Time on February 13, 2026.
The Crop Residue Burning Advisory Committee was established by state rule authorizing DEQ to manage the burning of crop residue on lands other than the five Indian reservations. The committee meets annually to review program procedures, evaluate performance during the most recently concluded burn season, and recommend improvements.
The committee is comprised of representatives from environmental, farming, health, and tribal organizations, along with DEQ, Idaho State Department of Agriculture, and the US Environmental Protection Agency. Currently, the committee includes 12 members appointed to 4-year terms by DEQ’s director.
