Online Wastewater School – Nitrification

Idaho wastewater operators, wastewater land application operators, and other water professionals interested in reuse land application of recycled water are invited to attend. Each class in this series is designed to provide current operational staff with complete knowledge of wastewater fundamentals. This class can be helpful for prepping for the wastewater treatment examinations. The school is designed to provide all operators with a review of the current state of practice for each topic in wastewater treatment.

Homework will be assigned for each class and due the next week.  Attendance certificates will be provided when homework is turned in.  There are two classes of assigned homework: Grades 1-2 and Grades 3-4. Students will be encouraged to try both sets but only be graded on their appropriate category.

Instructor:  Paul Krauth

Instructor bio:  For 25 years Paul worked as the Outreach Coordinator for the Utah Division of Water Quality. He was involved in providing technical and operational assistance to all of Utah’s wastewater facilities in that capacity. In 2016 Paul retired from the Division but continues to aid treatment plants throughout the Western United States through Statepoint Engineering. He holds wastewater certifications in small lagoons systems, grade IV collection, grade IV Laboratory Technician, and grade IV treatment. He is active with the Associated Boards of Certification, both writing and review test questions. He is also a licensed professional engineer in the state of Utah.

Online discussion groups will also be utilized.

An online competition will also be held randomly throughout the 12 classes for those attending multiple classes in the training series. Please register early as seating is limited.  Registration closes the Friday before each class.
