BOISE – The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) seeks comment on two draft Idaho Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (IPDES) permits for the city of Boise Water Renewal Facilities (WRFs).
The city applied for two wastewater discharge permits for its WRFs, located in Boise, Idaho. The proposed permits would authorize the discharge of treated municipal wastewater year-round to the Boise River for five years. The permits identify the pollutants of concern and required limits for each pollutant or parameter, and monitoring and reporting requirements necessary to ensure compliance with the permits and protect human health and the environment.
Written comments on the draft permits and fact sheet will be accepted through Friday, April 29, 2022, at 5 p.m. MDT. The draft permits and fact sheet are available for public review at DEQ’s State Office (1410 N. Hilton St., Boise, ID 83706), DEQ’s Boise Regional Office (1445 N Orchard St., Boise, ID 83706) and on DEQ’s website.
A public meeting announcement was posted on DEQ’s website on March 23, 2022. The meeting is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. on April 27, 2022, at the DEQ State Office (1410 N Hilton St., Boise, ID 83706). You may join the meeting in-person or virtually, for more information visit our DEQ’s Events page.
