DEQ seeks comment on 2025 Regional Haze Progress Report for the Second Implementation Period 

Accepting comments from December 31, 2024, through January 29, 2025. 

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking comment on the 2025 Regional Haze Progress Report for the Second Implementation Period. 

The report describes the state’s efforts to reduce haze and improve visibility in Class I areas such as Craters of the Moon, Sawtooth National Recreation Area, Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Areas, and other national parks and wilderness areas. Under federal rules, states are required to submit a progress report detailing the status of emissions reduction strategies and visibility in these designated spaces.  

The draft report is available for review on DEQ’s Public Comment Opportunities web page, DEQ’s State Office (1410 N. Hilton Street, Boise, Idaho), and at DEQ’s regional offices. Written comments will be accepted through January 29, 2025, at 5 p.m. (MDT). When submitting comments or requesting additional information, please reference the “2025 Regional Haze Progress Report” document title.
