DEQ announces public comment period and opportunity for public hearing on draft T1 permit for Gas Transmission Northwest, LLC – Compressor Station 05
Accepting comments from February 15, 2022, through March 17, 2022.
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is announcing a public comment period and an opportunity for a public hearing for a draft Tier 1 operating permit for Gas Transmission Northwest, LLC – Compressor Station 05.
Gas Transmission Northwest, LLC operates a network of compressor stations that transmit natural gas from Canada to California along an underground pipeline. Compressor Station 05, located in Athol, Idaho, uses two turbines to power the compressors.
As a major facility, Station 05 is required to apply for a Tier I operating permit pursuant to the “Rules for the Control of Pollution in Idaho” (IDAPA 58.01.01.301). DEQ received the application for a Tier 1 operating permit on October 11, 2021, and is providing a 30-day public comment period on the proposed action.
