| The Panhandle Health District (PHD) has been collecting water quality information from a number of wells completed in the Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer since 1975. The water quality data consist of a variety of inorganic constituents that represent general aquifer ground water quality, along with some that may indicate contamination from the surface.
The PHD water quality database includes 33 wells. Water samples are taken from selected wells three times a year to evaluate general trends in the water quality. The first map below has a large scale so that all the wells can be seen and located relative to each other. The other two maps are interactive and have been created with a smaller scale so that individual wells can be easily seen. Red dots on the maps below show where the wells are located.
