Surface Water: §401 Certification
Hells Canyon Complex Hydroelectric Facility

Idaho Power Company's Hells Canyon Complex consists of the Brownlee, Oxbow, and Hells Canyon hydroelectric projects on the Snake River between Idaho and Oregon. In total, the project encompasses 95 river miles.

On May 15, 2009, IPC withdrew the existing water quality certification application and also on May 15, 2009, resubmitted an application for water quality certification. Previously IPC has withdrawn and resubmitted water quality certification applications. DEQ is reviewing the May 15, 2009, application materials and anticipates preparing a draft water quality certification during the summer of 2009. DEQ will seek public comment once the draft certification is completed.
