Water Quality:
Eighteenth Annual Water Quality Workshop:
Monitoring, Assessment and Management
January 8-10, 2008

 

The Eighteenth Annual Water Quality Monitoring Workshop will be held January 8-10, 2008, at Boise State University in the Hatch Ballroom. The purpose of the workshop is to share results of water quality monitoring efforts throughout Idaho.

The workshop is an annual event sponsored by the Idaho Departments of Environmental Quality, Fish and Game, and Agriculture, Boise State University-Biology Department, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Geological Survey, Agricultural Research Service, and Idaho Power Co.

 
 Keynote Speakers
  • Edward T. Furlong , Ph.D., "Pharmaceuticals and Other Emerging Contaminants in Water Resources: Trends and Observations at National and Watershed Scales."
  • Octavia D. Conerly, "Contaminants of Emerging Concern: EPA's Office of Water Perspective."
  • James L. Gray, Ph.D., "Detection of Environmental Estrogens and Concurrent Observation of Feminization of Fathead Minnows (Pimephales promelas) in Wastewater Effluent "
 
 Call for Presentations

Persons interested in presenting at the 2008 Workshop are invited to submit proposals on topics related to water quality monitoring, with emphasis on results from specific projects. Oral or poster presentations may be given. Oral presentations are limited to 20 minutes. Early submission is encouraged since we have had more presentations than time slots in the past.  Presentations are still being accepted.

 Parking at Boise State University

Free parking is available for conference attendees at the Boise State University Lincoln Parking Structure located at the southeast corner of University Drive and Lincoln Avenue.  After you enter the parking structure, make note of your parking space number.  At the pay machine located in the lobby of the Lincoln Parking Structure, enter your space number, then select "coupon," followed by 00000005.  If you have any difficulties, stop by the Lincoln Parking Structure office.  Link to Campus Parking Map.
