Emergency Response Overview
How DEQ and other agencies coordinate emergency response activities in Idaho

Waste Management and Remediation:

Plan for an Emergency

Although no business ever intends to release hazardous materials or waste, spills can happen. For this reason, it is important to plan and prepare for this type of emergency before it happens.

The best preparation is prevention. Do all you can to decrease your chances of a spill: train employees to do their jobs correctly and maintain good housekeeping standards at your business.

To assist hazardous waste generators in preparing for an emergency, DEQ has prepared the following templates:

Emergency Information Form (Word format)
Use this form to record emergency contacts and locations of emergency equipment.

Local Authorities Letter (Word format)

Send this letter to advise local fire authority of hazardous wastes on-site and help ensure proper response in the event of an emergency.

For more information on hazardous waste management, contact the DEQ Regional Office nearest you.
