Technical Assistance

DEQ provides free technical assistance to Idaho businesses interested in receiving site-specific pollution prevention tips. The following services can be provided:

  • On-site technical assistance.  DEQ can help you to assess practices and processes currently in use that could be improved to increase efficiency, reduce raw materials, decrease waste and pollutants, and save money (availability dependent on location).
  • Telephone consultations.  Contact DEQ by telephone if you are interested in more information on pollution prevention such as best practices for your sector, approaches other businesses have used to successfully apply P2, alternative products, available resources, etc.
  • Rapid response. Send an email with your question and DEQ will provide a prompt response; if the answer isn't readily available, DEQ will conduct the necessary research to find it.

Environmental Assistance for Small Businesses

Through a partnership between DEQ and the Idaho Small Business Development Center (SBDC), a wide range of environmental assistance is available to small businesses throughout Idaho. The Environmental Solutions Program provides a "one-stop shop" where small businesses can obtain free, confidential environmental assistance in addition to tax, labor, and other advice provided by the Idaho SBDC.
