Thursday, October 26, 2017

BOISE - The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking public comment on a draft work plan to clean up contamination at the CSS Farms operation area in Holbrook.

The area, located at 3747 S. 21000 W., is contaminated with petroleum chemicals.

The purpose of the Voluntary Remediation Work Plan is to guide cleanup of the site and describe implementation of the proposed cleanup method.

The proposed cleanup will involve excavating and removing contaminated soil from equipment fueling areas and a leaking underground heating oil tank. Following cleanup, the site will continue to be used for farming operations.

The draft work plan is available for review on DEQ’s website (download at right), at DEQ's state office (1410 N. Hilton, Boise) and Pocatello office (444 Hospital Way, #300), and at the Oneida County Library (31 N. 100 W.).
