Thursday, June 04, 2020

BOISE—The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) awarded an $8,395 low-interest drinking water construction loan to Swan Valley Elementary School in Bonneville County, Idaho.

The funding will be used to replace fixtures or piping that present a risk of lead contamination.

The loan from DEQ’s State Revolving Loan Fund, which is capitalized annually by grants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, provides this funding with no repayment obligation. The favorable loan terms represent an $11,951 savings to the community when compared to average costs for municipal general obligation debt issuances.
