Therefore, Sandpoint Signs & Graphics switched to an alternative product line that offers zero-and low-volatile organic compound (VOC) paints, sealers, stains, and coatings. They also switched to zero—and low—VOC building products. This has resulted in the reduction of hazardous waste from paint toxins such as formaldehyde, ammonia, acetone, heavy metals, solvents, odor masking agents, and other harmful preservatives. The conversion also results in lower emissions of VOCs, therefore improving outdoor and indoor air quality for the company's customers and employees.

Sandpoint Signs & Graphics replaced all cathode-ray tube (CRT) monitors with liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors, which use significantly less energy than CRT monitors. They also converted all of their lights to compact fluorescent light bulbs, recycle printer ink cartridges, and use recycled computer paper.
