DEQ launches new air quality and burn conditions webpage

July 25, 2017

By DEQ Air Quality Staff

DEQ has launched a new air quality reports and forecasts webpage, making it easier for you to find the latest air quality conditions and outdoor burning information for your area.

This new, user- and mobile-friendly webpage provides three-day air quality forecasts and residential wood heating and outdoor burning information for areas around Idaho. Select an Idaho location and air quality information is displayed showing Air Quality Index values, health concerns, and a forecast summary for each day. It also shows you when residential and open burning is allowed or restricted.

Other features on the page allow you to track air quality trends for the last 10 days, view real-time air quality conditions, and check an outdoor open burning map for burning restrictions by county.

DEQ recently moved to a new email platform called EnviroFlash to deliver daily air quality reports and forecasts to subscribers. To receive daily air quality information delivered to your inbox, go to

All of the information and data is provided by DEQ’s regional air quality staff. For questions about local air quality, contact your regional office here.
