Source Water Protection Workshop: Ground Water 101
DEQ is offering a one-day online source water protection workshop. The workshop will provide information on the fundamentals of ground water and source water protection including Idaho hydrogeology, aquifers, ground water quality and contamination, well drilling, construction and problem analysis and source water assessments and protection.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Dale Ralston, a retired Professor of Hydrogeology at the University of Idaho. Dr. Ralston has spent a long career working on ground water projects within Idaho and the surrounding states. He currently is the President of Ralston Hydrologic Services and has ongoing projects related to water supply development in both Idaho and Washington. The interaction of ground water and surface water is a focus of both of the current projects. Additional ongoing projects include design and construction of municipal water supply wells in both Idaho and Washington.
Additional featured speakers include Adrianna Hummer from Idaho Rural Water Association and DEQ Source Water Protection and Ground Water staff.
