Periodically DEQ hosts conferences, trainings, and workshops on environmental topics to provide environmental professionals and other interested parties an opportunity to network and learn about air quality, water quality, and waste management issues of interest and concern.

Wastewater

• 2013 Water Reuse Conference: May 15 and 16, Boise
  DEQ hosts an annual Water Reuse Conference designed to enable water and wastewater operators, engineers, public works directors, elected officials, consultants, developers, attorneys, environmental advocates, and other professionals to continue their education, network, and discuss key issues related to water reuse in Idaho and the West.

• Wastewater Collection Operator Review for Class I and II Certifications: Classes will be held Jun. 11 and Jun. 12, in Boise with video conferencing available at the DEQ Coeur d'Alene and Pocatello regional offices.
• Wastewater Operator Math Review: June 13: This training will review basic math concepts and wastewater math formulas applicable to wastewater treatment plan operator certification exams. This class will be held in Boise with video conferencing available at the DEQ Coeur d'Alene and Pocatello regional offices.
• Wastewater Lagoon Troubleshooting & Optimization Workshop: July 24-25, Mountain Home: This workshop will cover new methods, techniques, and strategies for BOD reduction, TSS removal, odor control, sludge reduction, and nutrient removal.

• Greenhouse Gas Emissions Workshop: 2010
  This workshop, sponsored by DEQ in cooperation with EPA and the Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Center (PPRC), was designed to share information on the Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gases Rule with Idaho businesses and local governments.
