The Idaho Board of Environmental Quality will have a new member at its November 14-15 meeting. Jacobs Boise vice president Mark Bowen will replace The Amalgamated Sugar Company's John McCreedy as the board's multimedia representative with knowledge of air, water, and solid waste issues.
As vice president for the Jacobs office in Boise, Bowen has worked with private- and public-sector clients on water, wastewater, environmental, transportation, and facilities projects in Idaho. He has managed multidisciplinary teams for large design and construction-phased projects throughout the Pacific Northwest and worked with clients on environmental compliance projects and negotiations. Bowen holds a Bachelors of Science degree in civil and environmental engineering from Utah State University, a Masters of Science in structural engineering from Stanford University, and a Professional Engineer license.
Bowen also serves on Boise State University’s College of Engineering Industrial Advisory Board, the Boise WaterShed Exhibits Board, and the St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital Advisory Board.
The board is a rulemaking and advisory body that consists of seven members appointed by the governor, with the advice and consent of the senate. Board members serve four-year terms and generally meet three or four times per year.
