Air Quality: Permit to Construct Exemption

Note: Before filling out Form EXPT, watch the video demos on using the form first. These short videos will show you how to correctly fill out the form.

The Rules for the Control of Air Pollution in Idaho (IDAPA 58.01.01.220 through 223) allow owners or operators to exempt certain sources from the requirement to obtain a permit to construct. The resources below are provided to help facilities prepare and maintain their own exemption documentation in support of a self-exemption.

Note: Self-exemption does not release the emissions unit from compliance with all other applicable federal (for example, NSPS, Tier I operating permit), state, or local laws, regulations, permits, or ordinances.
