Meteorological Forecast and Air Quality Discussion:
Wednesday will be another dry and cool day with southwesterly-westerly flow over southern Idaho. The surface pressure gradient will be oriented generally from the west to east. Surface wind speeds will range from 5-15 mph and be from the southwest to northwest with higher wind speeds over the eastern airsheds. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly sunny. Mixing heights will range from 2,000-8,000 feet AGL. Transport wind speed will be between 10-25 mph and be from the southwest to northwest. Ventilation will be POOR in the morning and EXCELLENT in the afternoon. Inversions are expected to break between 11am-12noon. Air quality is forecast to be good to moderate. PM2.5 and ozone concentrations are expected to be below program concentration thresholds.
