Policy Regarding the Award of Wastewater and Drinking
Water Grants |
Purpose |
| To establish the matching percentage for grants
issued for wastewater planning grants and drinking water planning
grants, when and if authorizing legislation is passed. |

Rationale |
| Because the amount of funding that is available
to award planning grants is limited; and because the need for facility
planning grants is still great the matching percentage that the Division
will reimburse for costs of facility plans needs to be revised. |

Statement of Policy |
| Beginning in Fiscal Year 2001, July 1, 2000 through
June 30, 2001, grant recipients will be reimbursed 50% of eligible
costs of wastewater planning grants. If the legislature passes legislation
that authorizes planning grants for drinking water, the matching percentage
will be 50% for those grants as well. This matching percentage will
remain in effect until it is changed by a new policy. Grant awards
made before July 1, 2000 are not affected by this policy, such grants
will be completed using the matching percentage specified in the grant
award. |

Implementation |
| This
policy shall be effective immediately.
