About Us:

DEQ's Planning and Special Projects Division

 What Are DEQ's Priorities?

Planning and evaluation are essential to the success of any business or organization. DEQ's Planning and Special Project Division works with the agency's Air Quality, Water Quality, and Waste Management and Remediation Divisions and Regional Offices to prioritize and evaluate DEQ's efforts to fulfill its legislatively mandated environmental responsibilities. Larry Koenig, (208) 373-0407, is the administrator of this division.

Each year, the division produces strategic plans that outline priority environmental issues in Idaho and efforts planned by DEQ to address these issues, and annual reports that summarize DEQ's activities and achievements for the previous year, highlight developing issues, and outline the agency's plans for the following year. Every three to four years, the division conducts an in-depth analysis of Idaho's environment and presents the results in a comprehensive State of the Environment Report.
